🎶📖 Dear friends of music and poetry, we invite you on Monday, October 20, at 8 PM to a music and poetry evening with Dimitrije Nikolić, as part of the Mondays in Italy concert series! ✨
🎙 The musical-poetic evening of Dimitrije Nikolić is conceived as a programmatic diptych, in which each spoken poem organically intertwines with a carefully selected piano composition. In this way, word and music enter into dialogue, complementing one another and creating a space for a multilayered artistic experience. ✒️🎹
📚 The poems that will be performed throughout the evening come from Dimitrije Nikolić’s latest poetry collection Justifying Tenderness, published by the renowned publishing house KOV.
“In seven pre-apocalyptic lyrical ellipses (‘Tears to the Crucified Poet,’ ‘Suite,’ ‘All-Day Portrait of Miss K.,’ ‘Ballads,’ ‘Triptych of Poems,’ ‘Unaligned Poems,’ ‘Quartet for the End of Time’), Nikolić poetically explores the hieroglyphic riddles of love and death, beauty and pain, singing and dying, being and time, transcendence and eternity, ineffability and expression,” writes Aleksandar M. Arsenijević, the collection’s reviewer.
The collection has just been awarded the prestigious Seal of the Town of Sremski Karlovci prize. 🏅📖
